When David, the shepherd warrior was
hiding for his life from King Saul, he was also still the enemy of
the Philistines, and thereby prone to attack from them at any
time.
One secret of David’s life, and what made him a great shepherd, was that no matter how tough the circumstances in his own life, he was usually willing to help others. He didn’t realize it, but this quality of life service kept him under the anointing. Never lose the anointing of the Ruach Elohim. It is the anointing that breaks the yoke of the oppressor: your oppressor ... your enemy ... is Satan, the devil!
“And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off they neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.? (Isaiah 10:27)
David had been told while in hiding from King Saul that the Philistines were fighting against Keilah, and were robbing the threshing floors. Keilah was an Israelite city near the Philistine border. The threshing floors were not well defended, and therefore the farmers would be discouraged when their grain to be used for both food and seed was gone.
Therefore David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I go and attack these Philistines?? And the LORD said to David, “Go and attack the Philistines, and save Keilah.? But David’s men in the “3-D Group? said to him, “Look, we are afraid here in Judah. How much more then if we go to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?? Then David inquired of the LORD once again, and the LORD answered him and said, “Arise, go down to Keilah, for I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.?
So David and his men went to Keilah, fought with the Philistines, won a strong victory, took away their livestock, and saved the inhabitants of Keilah. (1 Samuel 23:1-5)
Do you have a problem or circumstance so big you don’t think you can win? You know in your mind that G-d can win, but you’re not convinced He will win through YOU . . . Why? Is it because of:
After answering these questions, and knowing where you stand, then take the situation to G-d. Listen to G-d and He will give you direction. You may have to shut off your TV for a while, or go on a fast. Above all, you must be willing to do what He says . . . or don’t bother asking. He knows ahead of time.
